105mm M14B4 shell

#1

I usually don’t delve into anything “big”, but the seller gave me so much ammo at such low prices that I felt I had to buy something else, and this one caught my eye. The headstamp is “105mm M14B4, kxo8110016-006”. What is all this info in white paint? Also, about rolled body cartridge, I am told it is cheaper to produce, are modern, present day large calibre shells still made like that?

Vlad–At least in Viet Nam, this was the most common type of 105mm Howitzer case. I don’t know if they still use the rolled case design today. The 105mm Howitzer was the only artillery case I saw in Viet Nam using this case type. Most of others I saw (120mm, etc.) were anodized steel.
