"12 Venatum 12 Venatum" by Rio Elite

Another sporting clay course pickup, but here I couldn’t find a matching box. Is it Italian? Well made ammo. There is still an ammo shortage in US and we see a LOT of Italian made ammo brought here, some unusual names and headstamps.

RIO is a Spanish Brand ( originally Esplosivos RioTinto- ERT, now Maxxam Explosives ( Mining Explosives and Shotgun Ammo and Reloading Powders).
Quality made ammunition.
“Venatum” is Latin, meaning relating to Hunting ( Venator - Hunter )

Rio was manufacturing ammo in Marshall, TX . I am not sure if they still are. The USA headquarters of Maxam sporting ammo is in Irving, TX. Spanish components. Rio primers are a unique size and 209 primers are slightly smaller . Unless you use Nobel or Rio primer for reloading Rio hulls 209 simply fall out. Seems to be good quality ammo but not geared to the reloader. Their 28 bore ammo has a problem with case head separation.
