.177/22 Rimfire?

#1

I found this in a small collection I bought many years ago. Fake or real?

#2

To me, it appears the bullet has been fired once upon a time due to the rifling marks on the bullet itself.

I would say “fantasy item” perhaps???

I see the marks on the bullet you mean, but if they were indeed produced by rifling the rifing pitch of the firearm was very fast. Jack

I think its not rifling its a knurl to hold lubricant. The shoulder on the case looks factory produced rather than a garage conversion. The headstamp would be interesting

#5

“SP” headstamp from Swartklip (devision of Denel) South Africa.

#6

looks like cast marks on the bullet which speaks of being garage made.
