I received these 2 7.62 Nato cartridges. I was told they were for the 1956 Games. There was a previous article on this forum but the pictures are no longer there. Can someone confirm if they are genuine. One is marked 200 Grain.
Wasn’t the 7.62 NATO adopted by the US in 1957, (Winchester brought it out commercially as the .308 Winchester earlier)?
Was it adopted by other countries before the US?
Before that it was a modified .300 Savage cartridge that was named “T65” during the trials to replace the .30-06 Gov’t cartridge.
