2 us spam cans

#1

i found 2 sealed cans of ball ammo, marked as follows
#1 IN CARTON 800 LOT LC 12944 BALL M1
#2 600 BALL M1 10 RD CLIPS BANDOLEERS WCC 6875

Assume #1 is 30-06 ? #2 is .30 carbine? what are they worth? and are they worth collecting?

#2

Both are caliber .30 Carbine, 800 rounds being the standard spam can pack when in 50 round cartons, and 600 rounds when in clips/bandoleers. These probably date to the early 1950s. Good shooting ammo, and some collector interest. Value depends on if you are buying or selling, and shipping costs involved and who pays that. Carbine shooting ammo can be found at about $10-15 per box retail at gun shows. Collector interest is probably greater among gun collectors for display with their carbine, than from pure cartridge collectors.
