27x145 mauser round

#1

hello
i have this shell 27x145
the projectile is blue (indicate target practice)but the stencil is strange:

27 G
HE
DM 21
LOT NW-300-22-X

question :what type of this shell ? TP or HE ?
thank for your responses

#2

It is definitely not HE as it is painted blue so it is safe. The use of the letters “HE” must just be a coincidence.

#3

with the small picture of the markings only shown, I wouldn’t like to say so.
The previous model of that DM number was the DM 11 and that was a HE projectile with PD SD fuze DM 351.
So without seeing more of this round in question its hard to say what it really is.

It might be a setup test for a marking machine, usually they use then TP projectiles and no life HE or the like since technicians are around the machinery and watching the process and turning keys etc… When done with life ammo in a real process nobody is allowed to be near the machinery.

hello
thank for your responses
it’s definitively a target practice round

for mtlb:

the fuze is unmarked (painted blue)
27 G DM28 DM1315 lot RG-50-043 is graved on the projectile
headstamp:27x145 DM 1001 LOT RG-1-047-X
electric primer

Hello,
yes thats right about TP - the DM1315 is the inert TP projectile.

#8

The DM28 is the “TP” indicator.
