I had this down as Austrian but now not sure it is. I can not find a match on the headstamp. Any help welcome… Paul
Your cartridge was made at the Lake City (Missouri, USA) Army Ammunition Plant in 1954. It is a high pressure test cartridge with a tin plated brass case. Production started at Lake City in 1954 and continued through early 1955. Loading details are covered in HWS Vol. III, page 143.
Mel, so IC is LC with the letter L having a broken bunter. It all makes sense now. Its just one of those things you get into your head and cant shift…thanks…paul.
