Yesterday I was on a page from a person who visited the Springfield Armory Museum.


There is a SILENCED M1 CARBINE showed there.
Is something known about the cartridge they used for it?


Good question! As it is an integrated silencer regular ammo might have been used.

The silenced carbine in the picture is reported to have been developed at Enfield for the OSS. According to Juan Marino’s book about silencers “an special subsonic cartridge, of optional use, loaded with a soft point bullet and identificable by means of a green tip” was made for this carbine, but I’m not sure if this information is correct.
