.303 S.L. Match Marking Variations

When delving through some .303” S.L. (Stream Lined) match cartridges, I noticed some variation in how they were marked: different heights of marking up the case wall; some chemically stained, some coated; most stained / coated on the head, but some left plain on the head. All headstamps illustrated are ‘Kynoch .303 S.L.’. Pictures below to illustrate. Is there any significance to the different styles of marking? Thanks, Pete.
