Peter, nice headstamp, thanks for sharing.

The two letters after RD is a code assigned to this importer of ammunition and has no meaning. They also made a 9x19 for them also headstamped RDJF.

Currently, there are about 50 codes assigned to different companies (some use several codes).

Fede

thx Fede for the Explanation of the last letters of this hs…
Peter

Nice headstamp Peter!

Fede, what other codes are known?

Here their Fac… account:

Alex, other confirmed codes are: BA, DM, GC, GD, GE, GF, HB, HC, HD, HK, HL, HO, HP, HQ, HS,
JA, JB, JC, JF, JG, LA, N, OD, OE, OI, OJ, OK, OL, OM, OS, OT, OU, OV, OX, QC, SA, SD, TA, TB, TC, TD, TE, TR, TT, and UA. First letter identify the importer and second letter the import lot.

It is likely that there are other codes between AA and UA, or using other letters.

Regards,

Fede

Fede, thanks!
How does that square with “JF” then as we know “RDJF” already from 9x19 made some years ago?

And are any of these codes confirmed on headstamps?
Do photos exist and are any of the other importers are identified?

Same importer and import lot use same code, no matter the caliber.

Most of those codes are confirmed in cartridges made by different manufacturers. I’ll prepare a list with more details.

Fede
