Here are a couple of close-ups from the UMC broadside we were discussing on the thread for the .45-60 What Cheer. I would date this broadside between 1880-1884.
It shows a .44-105 What Cheer cartridge. It is obviously what is normally called the .44-95 What Cheer. Anyone know when they changed the designation? In the 1880 UMC catalog it is listed as “.44-95 What Cheer” with a 550 gr. bullet and a 2 5/8 inch case.
