.45 Sharps 2 4/10"

#1

I have a .45 Sharps 2 4/10" case with no headstamp. The case head is convex, with the primer being its highest point in the middle. The primer cap is very flat, and made of a very yellow brass.

From this description, can anyone tell the manufacturer?

I can post a photo if necessary.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Falcon, could be by Remington . M. Rea

I agree that it is likely a Remington product. As a side note, these rounded as well as tapered head cases will often be found on cartridges that might be used in single shot rifles of the style with a falling block - Sharps, Ballard, Winchester. As the block rose back up into the firing position, the rounded or tapered head would be less likely to jam in a gun that was dirty from previous shots.
