Is there anything special about the tip color on the left. It’s a translucent red instead of red paint. Almost looks like it was dark red over light red
I just opened my shipment from SLICS and it looks like I picked up one of these too. Ron Fuchs shows two entries for a W C C 6 6 XM196 tracer, one with a painted tip and one with a dyed tip. I’m assuming these must be the dyed tip. Unfortunately there’s no additional information provided other than the lot number of his specimen (WCC 6054). I don’t see any mention of it in HWS III or in Scranton’s color code reference either.
Cool. Didn’t realize they were XMs. The one on the right of that picture is WCC 65 headstamp.
