6.5 Arisaka with 2 primer stake crimps

Am I correct that a 6.5 Arisaka round with 2 stake crimps opposite each other on the primer (Brass case, no headstamp, rounded brass primer cap, pointed CN jacketed bullet) is a Chinese manufactured round? Any info would be helpful.

No, it is a Japanese made Type 38 round, not made by the Chinese.

They are fpund with none, two or three staked primer crimps. The three stake crimp is thought to indicate the later type bullet with thickened envelope walls which was introduced some time around 1915. The two stake crimp you have is the earlier type with a conventional envelope.

Thanks for the info, it sounds familiar now you mention it!
