6.5x55mm DWM 1941

Hi all,

I rediscovered this cartridge which I forgot I had for the last 10 years!
It’s a 6.5x55 made by DWM of Germany in 1941, but I’m unsure of who would this have used this and can’t find much about it at hand. I assume it’s military so, would this have been made for use in captured Krag Jorgensen rifles during German occupation, or something else?

Many thanks indeed,

Best regards,

Simon

IIRC this was Swedish contract.

The crown look like than the one on swedish ammunition. So must be a contract for sweden rather than a product for German armed forces with captured rifles…

sweden got it from Germany against delivery of iron ore…and sweden gave a lot of this specific ammo to Finland, as help during finnish-russian war

As has been said here, this was a contract for Sweden, and here is the box. According to some sources the cartridges were manufactured at the FN plant Belgium, which was under DWM control.
