6mm Unified Machinegun Belts

Hi guys,

I recently acquired the two different belt sections for the Russian experimental 6mm Unified machinegun shown in the photos below. From what I have been told, the section on top was made for the 6x53mm variant, while the section on the bottom was made for the more familiar 6x49mm variant.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case, and if possible, provide any additional information on these belts?

As a clone of 7,62x54R cartridge, we can have a look at 4,5/10x54R “Strelka” cartridge designed by Dworjaninow and the piece of steel belt for this cartridge: [image] And, as addition to the beautifull Mechanik’s pictures, I can add the view of starter tab for metallic belt cal. 6x49 [image]
