7,62x51 NATO Hirtenberg

On the photo popular h/s “HP 7,62x51 .308” from Hirtenberger Patronenfabrik.
Is it possible to determine the period of production of ammunition with this marking? Is it used to this day, alternating with other versions of markings?

Thanks

“HP” was used in Hirtenberger Patronenfabrik headstamps from 1956 to 2004. In 2004 HP ceased production of small arms ammunition.

I am not sure if it is covered there but you may check Mötz’s book and the anniversary booklet of Hirtenberger.

Alex,

Indeed the information I posted is from the HP 150 year anniversary book published in 2010.

What does HP manufacture after 2004?

RUAG obtained the SAA branch and closed it down.
Hirtenberger kept on making artillery ammunition and was sold just recently to Hungary.
