7,62x51 RSA

I need a help with correct identification of the cartridge headstamp

I think that reading of the headstamp could be following:

A - is a manufacturers code: Pretoria Metal Pressing Ltd, Pretoria, RSA
79 - is a year 1979
7,62 - caliber
L.R1M2 - model of the cartridge (blank)

Am I correct?
What is a full name of the L.R1M2?

Your reading of the headstamp is correct, and it is interesting that the South Africans were still using the old British code of “L” for blank, “G” for tracer etc., even at that late date.

However, what makes you believe it was for Rhodesia?

Thank you very much for answers!

Rodesia - it was my mistake. I don’t know why I use the name of this country. Of course it is Republic of South Africa.
