At the Williamsport show I found a tracer cartridge with the headstamp (+) DAG-69. The round appears to be factory loaded with a US M62 orange tipped GM tracer bullet and not the usual red tipped GMCS bullet seen on German tracers. The primer also looks very US - ringed in flat brass primer with a red primer seal. German NATO rounds typically have a staked primer. If it wasn’t for the headstamp, I would say the cartridge was manufactured by Lake City. Did the US manufacture tracer rounds for Germany using the DAG headstamp?
Can anyone shed light on this cartridge?
