7,9 mm Mauser question

#1

Yesterday I saw some S.m.K. 7,9 mm cartridges with copper washed steel cases
dated 1939 and with a P code ( sorry , don’t remember the exact number)

There was also the code “v x 1” in the headstamp.What’s the meaning of that code?

Thanks

Hi Pivi,

The V is for the Plating firm.

V = Kabel-u. Metallwerke Neumeyer A.G., Klingenhofstra

I suspected it was about case material or plating , but I wasn’t sure

Thanks
