8 x 35.7

#1

Hello,
brass case : Length 35.7 mm
no hstp
the bullet is supposed to be 8 mm

What is it please?
Thanks
JP

it looks like a wildcat based on the 223 rem case. The 338/223 straight is very similar to your cartridge.Maybe yours is a 8 mm version

#3

I don’t now what is the 338/223.
But this one is special.
There is no neck, the case is straight and the bullet directly inside
Has somebody ever seen a ctge like that ?

2 versions exist. One is made cutting off a 223 rem case to 35.7 mm.

.338-223 on the left, 7.62mm x 51 for scale

More or less:can you see it in the picture?
However your round has a bullet of 8 mm,not 338" so it could be a variation or a cartridge very similar to that described above. In the picture the bullet is seated deeply into the case and the neck is like that of your round, armourer’s neck round looks different

Hi !

It is not that
Indeed my ctge has a base and rim diameter of 10.95 which is a lot greater than for a 223 case.

And there is no hstp

Mmmmm, that looked very similar.Since the diameter is different that 223 rem one could it be possible that it is a special made case?

Hello !
I just found in my boxes (it is a mess!) another ctge similar.
It is a 8 x 37.75 Finish Experimental
Here is a picture of the two ctges.
As I told you, I have to double check the strange ctges I am asking info on, because I have a lot of experimental staff.

Value please
thanks
