Hello Wolfganggross,

Are you sure that you have the picture captions in the right order? The lower right image looks exactly like the cut 04/78 in your upper picture, look at the grains of powder and the primer anvil shape.

The 9 x 18 Makarov with headstamp 04 83 is from East Germany, made at Königswartha.

Went back and checked headstamps, I’ve been known to mix things up. However this time they are correct. Gravelbelly did you mean the round on the lower left looks like the one top right? You did get the powder correct! When I received these rounds half of them were pulled with no powder. So with running out of powder, the 21/85 got the extra powder from the 04/78. I cut so many because of the different color sealants (both primer and neck) combined with headstamps.
Thanks JohnMoss, 04 is not listed in the headstamp page and didn’t want to jump to conclusions.
