Argentine 3.7cm Flak (37x265B)

This headstamp belongs to an Argentine 37x265B contract case made for the navy infantry 3.7cm Flak 37 cannons. Special markings indicates: “Armada Argentina” (AR) and “Arsenal de Artillería de Marina de Zárate” (ZR). Also, there are three partially visible reloading marks between 9 and 12 o’clock.

Great image and info!

Are there images of the complete rounds available?

No pictures right now, but it was loaded with an explosive tracer projectile painted red and white. Here is the drawing:

I recently sold a case with very similar markings and I believe the same lot number. However, the one I had only had the German Polte markings. Were all of these made for foreign contracts or were some used in Germany?

The AR and ZR were certainly not for German service. Those with regular markings were for the Wehrmacht.

Thanks EOD. My case had only German markings.
