Argentinian 9 mm Parabellum rarities

#1

These are some unusual special purpose 9 mm Parabellum cartridges made in Argentina during the 1970’s and early 1980’s. None of these were actually loaded by FM"FLB" or FM"SF".

Armor-piercing bullet designated “BLAR” (probably standing for “Bala Ligera Anti Radiador”). Loaded by Tecnipol S.R.L., Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires. Bullet profile is similar to french Arcane but this one is made from turned brass.

----------

Explosive (unknown filling mixture). Probably loaded by División Armamento y Munición de la Policía Federal. Semi-jacketed bullet with lead core.

----------

Unknown purpose (some sort of “improved stopping power” test?). The jacket shows only one slit.

Fede,

Great items, all going into my reference files. I have the yellow bullet explosive load, though I didn’t know what the load was, but the other two loads are entirely new to me. Many thanks for providing this information.

Cheers,

Lew
