Boxes of National 44 and 357

Steve

#2

Are these rare?

#3

My guess would be that they are NOT rare.

National ammunition was widely available in the mid-1980’s. They had a line of about 25 different loads, including subsonic, besides the two shown above. Their line covered most of the major handgun calibers.

#5

Did they have their own headstamp?

#6

Falcon,

The 44 was loaded on WW-super brass. The .357 Tracer and Explosive rounds are marked with a red tip and on National brass h/s National 357 MAG

Steve

#7

Thanks for the info, I hadn’t heard of a “National” headstamp before.

#8

Falcon,

I will try to get a photo of the h/s, but my camera is not that great, so we will see…

Steve

Falcon,

Not having much luck getting a clear photo of the h/s…will keep trying.
