Cutaway Winchester Ranger 12G

This is a cutaway Winchester Ranger 12G. Why did manufacturer produce these cutaway samples? Just as souveniers or there was something really drastically different about the interior? Do the manufacturers make cutaways of all models or just special ones? That is my first cutaway.

Most cutaways are education items, mostly to show how it looks inside. Soldiers, hunters, reloaders ect. where teached with these models.

May be new developements couldt be shown this way, for example an improved shotball sabbot or whatever.

Most “cut-aways” ( normally called window shells in the U.S.) were salesmen samples and usually come in a flat box with windowshells of several types in the same box.
