How old is this stuff? And how powerful is it?
Vlad–These date from about 1985.
From what little info I’ve found on the web, they are from mid 70’s, The company was appealing a lawsuit over the sale and manufacturing of them in Feb 1984. (Bingham LTD VS United States) They were using lead azide as the explosive part of the tip and needed to comply with the explosive licensing requirments of Title XI of the Organized Crime Act of 1970. In 1978 a box of 12 - .38 specials cost $9. The Sgt Major (Jack Wells) sent me a few in .380 (yellow box) and just picked up a box in .357 (black box) for $50 off the internet. They seem to have a bad reaction to the foam that they were packed in, causing some corrosion on the cases. The Sgt Major said that they were quite devasting on car doors.
Was doing research on them because I’m getting ready to cut a couple. wolfgang
