Factory 270

#1

in the old forum I was asking if somebody had info on a factory with the code 270 on the headstamp.
the info I had were :

  • original drawings were written in english and with metric dimensions
  • they were customers of SFM in 1965

I have the answer now : Egypt

JP–Are you sure the Factory 270 on Flares is Egypt? Normally Egypt is Factory 27.

Factory 270 on 7.62x39 is U.S.S.R. (Upto 1991).

you are right, Ron

but factory 270 is also egypt (in 1965)
It is for that the drawings were in english and dimensions in mm, date as 25/5/64, material aluminium , 7 with a line in the center like in french (and not without a line like in the US)
(I don’t think also the name K. Labib is russian)

And because they ordered 300 000 ctges from sfm, we even can say that 270 hstp flares are french!

Pretty frustrating.
I give you a scoop, thinking it will interest many of the people collecting all the East europe ctges and calibers.
But no.

It is sure it is not written in a book, for sure, but the info is reliable (more to my eyes at least)
