Found at Birkenau Poland near the destroyed gas chamber’s

I picked this up near the destroyed gas chambers at Birkenau when I was a kid in 1995. The markings are A T 3 50. I’m confused as to why a 1950’s shell would be there if the war ended in 1945.

Pretty sure it’s a 30, for 1930. The headstamp looks similar to a Yugoslav example…but not quite.

It was made in 1930 at the Artiljerisko-Tehnički Zavod, Kragujevac, Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Headstamp is written in Serbian Cyrillic (А Т З = A T Z).

Fede

I think this headstamp is typical of the sort of second class armament often found in use by the SS during the Second World War. Jack
