G Egestorff headstamp

Can anyone tell me what the lower case ‘b’ stands for in the headstamp: + G.EGESTORFF + LINDEN b/H.

Guy, it should be “Linden bei Hannover”, what means “Linden near Hannover”.

This was done to specify which Linden is meant since there is at least one more town in Germany with this name.

G. Egestorff was “L” in WW1 and later “P120” and “emp”.

best regards
