German (modern) 26.5mm aluminium signal cartridge cases

#1

I recently acquired these signal cartridge cases (see below).

The one on the right has a case length of 110mm. The printing on the side reads:

SIGNALPATRONE LICHT.26,5MM,
DM23A1B1
MEHRSTERN, ROT

LOS F-64-9
VERBRAUCH BIS 9.76

This translates to:

SIGNAL CARTRIDGE LIGHT.26,5MM,
DM23A1B1
MULTI STAR, RED

LOS F-64-9
USE BEFORE 9.78

This has the fully knurled rim, as expected for red star. It is headstamped “G”. Primer is sealed with green annulus and has a 5 pointed star stamped into it off centre. Who is the manufacturer of the round?

The second ore reads:

RAUCHSIGNALPATRONE 26,5mm DM 24
RAUCHSTRICH VIOLETT

LOS NIC-131-8
VERBRAUCH BIS 9.78

This translates to:

SMOKE SIGNAL CARTRIDGE 26.5mm DM 24
SMOKE COLOUR PURPLE

LOS NIC-131-8
USE BEFORE 9.78

This one is headstamped “VAW 10.74”. Primer is sealed with green annulus and has a 5 pointed star stamped into it off centre. Who is the manufacturer of the round?[/img]

Falcon,

The 26,5mm DM23A1B1 Signalcartridge Lot F 64-9 is made by F. Feistel Pyrotechnik, G

Cheers Rob, but why use the headstamp “G” on the DM23A1B1 and “VAW” on the DM24 when the companies do not have these letters in their names. Do the headstamps signify something else?

Falcon,

The unprimed 26,5mm cases are made by various sub-contractors.
I don’t known the abbrevation of the “G” and “VAW” manufacturer code.
