Grapnel, ML, 2-inch Mortar

Does anyone know what the 2 black items are on the left side of this picture? Definitely something I have never seen before? Harpoon? Rifle Grenade, I have no idea :-) Thanks so much

APFSDS

They are (from the left):

Bomb, ML, Smoke, 2-inch Mortar
Grapnel, ML, 2-inch Mortar, Actuating Trip Wire, Mk I (missing ferrule nose, attachment mortar and tail unit)
Grapnel, ML, 2-inch Mortar, Actuating Trip Wire, Mk I (missing attachment, mortar and tail unit)
Bomb, ML, Practice, 2-inch Mortar
Bomb, ML, HE, 3-inch Stokes Mortar
Bomb, BL, HE, 4-inch Mortar, 10-lb Mark I (Naval)
Bomb, BL, HE, 4-inch Mortar, 10-lb Mark I (Naval)

The Grapnel Bomb was fitted with 400 yards of cord. Fire it over the intended route and drag back to actuate trip wires. Not to be confused with a version which had 90 yards of Cordtex attached. The main missing bit on the grapnels is a solid short body (providing weight and obturation) and the tail unit.

I wish I could claim I knew all this but must thank my freind Norman Bonney

Kind regards

Ian

Wow! Awesome! Very appreciative Ian! Please also, thank your friend Norman Bonney for me. Very cool device! I was thinking it was some kind of whaling harpoon part or something.
