H/S Id on 7.92 Mauser

#1

I have a 7.92x57 Mauser with a h/s of P C H 39. I did not see this in the IAA h/s list. Im sure it is a common ball round.

Thanks
Steve

PCH is Pouderie et Cartoucherie Hellene, the Greek Powder and Cartridge Company. Their modern day headstamp is HXP.

These rounds would have been made for export. Britain bought large quantities of 7.92mm Balla and AP from PCH in 1940 before full domestic production of ammo for the BESA got under way.

@TonyE

You cannot say that. It depends on the head stamp.

Here is an example of the German code for Spain of 1938.
