Identifying those 7.62X39

#1

Hello mu friend
I’m new here very happy to find such a forum .
i have found two 7.62x39 cartridge headstamp 10 / 77 & 5 / 79
can you please tell me where they are manufactured?

I could not access your pics. The 10 is most-likely Bulgarian. Is the other just 5, or 05?

#3

Only 5 not 05
I couldn’t post the picture . It seems that the pictures should be online to post the it

#4

I have my 5 79 listed as East Germany.

#5

Are you sure about that ?

here’s the pictures

The “5” Here is indeed made in the GDR. It is just the less common variant of the “05” which I know only from 1979. Also one can see the omitted position where the “0” was supposed to be.

The other cartridge is as said before Bulgarian.

Thank you Jonnyc & EOD.
maybe the picture not clear enough, on reality there’s no omitted 0.
there’s another question please , what USSR or Russian 7.62x39 are headstamped ?

#8

Not sure if I understand your question, but almost all Soviet/Russian 7.62x39 has been headstamped.

#9

sorry, i meant what are the headstamps of Russian & USSR 7.62&39 ?

When omitted it is not visible, right as in your headstamp.
What we tried to say is that normally the factory code should be “05”.
