Just got a yellow Kynoch .30-06 box with black printing. Across the label, in red, is printed SMALL MARK. The box is sealed, but others near it contained K 53 headstamps. Any idea what the SMALL MARK means?
“Small Mark” means exactly what it says. When the rounds were inspected prior to packing, any with small marks, maybe nicks on neck, scrore marks on case etc. were put aside and packed as slight seconds.
These were often sold as practice ammunition and can be found in most of the volume production calibres, .303, .30-06. 7.62mm etc.
