The attached link is to a paper I found on the internet.
The paper is really about an environmental cleanup at Lake City but describes some of the history of the Davy Crockett 20mm Spotter round made from DU. It contains some information about processes at Lake City and the contractors who worked there during this period.
The reference to the percentages of isotopes in the DU (depleted uranium) in the article are based on an activity per mass (pCi/g) rather than mass per mass units. The DU used was in the “highly depleted” category which would mean the predominant isotope was Uranium 238.
I thought some of you might find it an interesting article.
