M71 Box

Hi All

New box in the collection, really old one this time  Mauser M71, 1888 year.

So much was saved. It has 3 sticky labels, they may be older than the latter, but do not spoil anything when peeling off. It will stay as it is now.

Label reads “Produced/ Assembled by Artillery Depot Coblenz, on 1 Feb. 1888”
Powder type/Lot 11.83, and Primer S ( ? Spandau) 1887.

Artillery Depots around Germany assembled Cartridges for Local unit use using Empty New cases etc made by Spandau or other Imperial Arsenals. These Depots also Reloaded BP ammo both
Ball and PlatzPatrone.

Some more the two 2-size at the top are still sealed & the lower row are both open.
Interesting the closeness of the dates in the 20-size Spandau boxes between Harrie’s & mine.

The 10 size on the left is also sealed & the right side is also empty.

If you look closely, Berlin is cancelled and manually replaced by “Posen” (today Poznan).
