Morse primitive brass cases

#1

Any idea what these are?
They may not even be cartridges, but I have no idea what they are.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

John, very nice, these are Morse patent shotgun and rifle cases. Do you know its measurements?

The rifle case looks like a .55 “Type I” with 1.44" case and the shotshell looks like a .64 “Type I” with 2.2" case. Both examples are missing the rubberized fabric seal.

JohnS & Fede

AS NEAR AS I CAN TELL, Fede HAS THE CALIBERS NAILED DOWN. I’LL JUST ADD THAT SHELLS WITH DOUBLE WIRE ANVILS ARE NOT AS COMMON AS THOSE WITH THE SINGLE WIRE ANVIL. I HAVE 20 DIFFERENT MORSE CARTRIDGES AND ONLY ONE WITH A DOUBLE ANVIL. NICE FIND!
