I got this 7.9 case for few days. The headstamp is “2 in a square”，“C”，“49”，“机”（which means machines）.It also have a uncommon small primer which diameter is 4.5mm.I suppose it’s the early products of PRC Arsenals. The other version of headstamp has letter “步” instead of “机” ，which means “infantry”. don’t know the structure difference between them.

Is the “C” the factory?
I don’t know exact meaning of the letter “2” and “C” I suppose it represent “test” （in Chinese 测试 Ce Shi）
Interesting fired case…fired in a ZB26 or an Inglis 7.9 Bren.
Also, double struck…slight signs of first ( unsuccessful) strike…
Maybe a short cycle…previous round did not cycle the breech block sufficiently to ignite the primer. Cartridge recovered and re fired. The oval FP is typical of ZB designed guns.
