NAS Whidbey Island (Ault Field), Washington State

Very picturesque large Naval Aviation base with a lot of noisy air traffic with Prowlers, Growlers, P3 Orions and bald eagles flying around. Cool large hangars and a lot of maintenance equipment. I had great time and it did not rain (for people out of this country, it ALWAYS rains in Seattle). I did not see any deactivation tags on any bombs or rockets in static displays.

I always thought the weather on the island was quite hospitable! It was not uncommon for notices to be put out concerning water usage, especially for outdoor plants. The rain clouds usually blew overhead and dumped on Seattle.

Seattle has less annual rainfall than Houston or New York City.
