Need help on Austro-Hungarian artillery round

#1

Can someone ID this one for me?

It might possibly be for the naval gun “7 cm/50 (2.75”) K10 and K16 Skoda"

Case is about 70 x 575mm Rimmed with rim diameter about 90mm.
Headstamp BUDAPEST WEISS 1912 and also a small crown over asterisk. Primer is marked W 92 12.

Projectile body measures about 66mm by 290mm (including the tracer cavity). One rotating band and pat of the forward band fit inside the case mouth and the larger beveled pat of the front band acts as a stop.

Former owner claimed it was a Hungarian tank round, but he did not seem very informed about what it was.

Thanks!
John

John,

Tanks weren’t around in 1912 were they? The Naval connection sounds more probable.

Hungarian tank rounds looked way different.
