Need help with a 44-40

While I was sorting through my 44-40’s looking for shot loads I ran across this 44-40 new primed empty with an N-A. Winchester headstamp and a large flat copper primer. Who made it?

Your headstamp is shown in the Cartridge Headstamp Guide by White & Munhall as the National Arms & Ammunition Co., Birmingham, UK.

Hi Rimfire -

this primed case was made by National Arms & Ammunition Company, Birmingham, England in 1877 for the Turkish Government. (They were at war with Russia). Never seen a loaded round - probably loaded in Turkey. Regards JohnP-C

Thanks for the info!
