New French contract 5.56 by Federal Cartridge

Attached is scan of a box which contained

5.56 ammo made by Federal for a French contract. It looks like it is a LE type of ammo. I don’t know what SBCT3 stands for as no ammo was in box. Anyone out there have a guess?

My guess on the “CT” part is courte portée, meaning reduced range.

The 14 in the NATO stock number (NNO) indeed represents France. This could indicate ammunition for Gendarmerie, which is part of the armed forces.
