Number "coding" on RSA 1984 7,62x51

The headstamp styles of south african 7,62 has been dealt with here before so I really just want a confirmation of my suspicion:
The style adopted sometime around 1982, with the last two figures in the year above the primer and the cartridge model below, does that still decode into first (model-)number to be put after an R and the second after an M, so a ‘12’ will be ‘R1M2’?
(Standard ball, brass three stab crimped primer and purple annulus)

Yes, you are correct. My understanding is that “RIM2” would be the eqivalent of an American item designated M1A2 or a British rifle designated No. 1 Mark 2.

If I am wrong, someone let us know.
