Very nice box, indeed. Where would you date that, post-war to mid-1950’s?
These old boxes are real beauties. I wonder why they can’t make them today.
Like in clothing, car bodies, and lots of other things, styles change over the years, and commercial art is no exception. That Peters box could just as well be a box of cereal of the same era, which while differently worded, would have similar graphics.
The new boxes are shinier, fancier and more colorful, but I agree with the sentiment of “why can’t they make those today.” The old boxes just seem to have more class. I, too, am not fond of the new styles of graphics on cartidge boxes, which remind me of poster art for rock concerts or something. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
