A gunsmith called Higham in Oswestry
England or somewhere else ?

J-P: England. “G.G. Higham, Oswestry, Shropshire. This English country gunmaker is believed to have been the grandson of George Higham, trading in Cross Street, Oswestry, in 1834-1850. His marks have been found on shotgun cartridges under the brand name Hi-Os.”

I would think that he was working past 1850 if his name is found on shotgun shells, but my only information, from the Greenhill/Walter book, page 244, only gives those dates.

Hope it is some help.
