Pebeco shotshell

#1

I just got this shotshell produced by Eley before WW1 for the Swedish market. But who is “Pebeco”?

#2

Hi Lars,

A very interesting case!!
I have no idea of who Pebeco is or was.
But is that a lead slug or some sort of wasted top card you show?

regards rené

Hi Rene,

It’s a lead slug

That slug looks, from the top, much like a Winchester 8 gauge zinc kiln slug. Perhaps a similar development from Eley, but from a shoulder fired gun, hence 12 gauge size? Roksvagt Krut means Smokeless Powder though. EDIT: As GWB pointed out it is 16 gauge. Oops.

THE DEPICTION ON MY COMPUTER SHOWS “16”.

Hi Lars,

Nice shotshell! It was made for Paul Berghaus & Co. A.-B. in Göteborg, Sweden. The bullet could be a Witzleben type, but no way to be sure without x-rays (or disassembly).

Fede

HI Fede,

Great info thanks a lot. It look like a slug of the Witzleben type with homemade grooves.
