Should I make this book?
- Yes, it seems like a neat idea.
- No, that’s dumb.
So I have been considering making a book, just for the fun of it. Some day in the future I can envision myself making a truly informative book on pinfire cartridges, but that is not this book.
This book will be mainly a full-color, larger-than-life, picture book showcasing unique guns and cartridges from mainly my collection. I envision it having short articles opposite each page with easy to understand information relative to the particular image. It would be a coffee table type book, where someone with no idea about pinfire cartridges could pick it up and get a good understanding of them, without needing too much detail. I would make it creative enough where it would be enjoyable enough for the every-day person with a general interest in guns or ammo to want to look through it all, without feeling like he is reading an authoritative text book. I would shoot for about 50+ pages.
I plan on using the excellent online on-demand publisher, http://www.blurb.com, to print it. It is relatively inexpensive, and the same price per book to print 1 or 1000.
I made a few quick, rough examples of what some of the inside pages may look like:
