Wagomiarowa amunicja specjalna/ Gauge special ammunition /

Introduction

So far, in the series reviewing gauge ammunition the authors of this paper published studies about shots and about gauge calibers [1, 2]. The definition of the gauge caliber was given in the second part [2]. During the operation of the Wroclaw-based joint Laboratory of the University of Wroclaw Forensic Department and the Forensic Medicine Department at the Medical University (presently the activity of this department is suspended), a number of objects resembling gauge ammunition were received for expert examination which, however, were not ammunition. Due to the lack of scientific studies on the subject, it was quite difficult to give an expert opinion. In the course of creating this series of publications discussing gauge ammunition produced in Poland, this very important problem for ballistic laboratories, in our opinion, cannot be disregarded. The authors intend to close this series of publications in part four, which will discuss gauge ammunition used in shooting sports. Some of the photos presented in this paper were taken during expert opinions, while the others are the results of desk research.

Piotr, thanks a lot!

WELL WORTH TIME TO DOWNLOAD THE .PDF AND LOOK THROUGH IT!

The .pdf document is a really superb reference in BOTH Polish and ENGLISH.

It covers a wide variety of what might be described as special purpose shotshell type cartridges, including less lethal, artillery wind gage loads, improvised home made shotshells, signal cartridges, and all sorts of other really unusual items, the common theme being based on a shotshell type case.
Mostly European origin.
