Platarg Engineering Ltd

I’m looking for information about the line of cartridge cases and projectiles made by Platarg Engineering Ltd of London sometime between 1986 and the early 1990’s. The only headstamp I have seen is PLATARG .38 and it could be just a sample made for advertisement purposes. Any information would be appreciated.

Per Otto Witt’s book “Otto’s 38s”:

Platarg Engineering Ltd.
Hanwell, London England

“Platarg is a manufacturer of cartridge making equipment. This is a sample case from a setup run of cases at SFM in France done in 1992. Apparently none of these cases were loaded.”

Headstamp shown:

PLATARG
.38

(Note that only brass case is known)

Hope this helps.

Leon, thank you very much for your help.

I found another reference published in 1988 mentioning that “the model C13 [13 stations] cartridge press can produce 0.38 cases from pre-formed cups”.

Is there any more info on exactly where they were based? I used to live very near to Hanwell.
